Ha-ha Julia.

This picture shows Henrietta's nesting box on top of the Christmas boxes in our carport. Julia, my web-gal who adds all the pictures to my photo album, inserted the arrow - a clear jab at the fact that it's hard to tell anything for the mess. Yes, the carport is one area that I never did get pulled together. It's mostly Greg's stuff, though this corner with the Christmas boxes is mine. Sigh.

Anyway, Henrietta must feel safe this high up, as she's here quite a bit, laying one small egg per day.
We called on the help of a bird expert, Dr. Chuck, for help on the question of the size of our decoy eggs. Here you can see the size of Henrietta's small white egg versus the blue stone (typical egg size - large) and the even larger wooden egg.  He said size doesn't matter, so we just left well enough alone, and Henrietta kept laying eggs.

Henrietta just comes in through the carport entrance. This space will clearly never be used to store cars, but I might get it cleared well enough some day to hang laundry inside.
