Among other things, I missed my favorite coffee cup. It's a bit worse for wear, but it fits my hand just right and gives me 12 ounces so I'm not running back to the coffeepot too often. Besides, Rita gave it to me. It's nice to connect with her every morning.
​I'm so glad to be home. After eating out again for two weeks, we craved home cooking. I made my first pesto from Jade's basil in the garden.

BG wanted to know about the college visits. I think the smartest thing Jade did beside write out a good set of questions was make leis in the school colors for all the people with whom she spoke. This was a practice run at home before we left.
One of my favorite parts of the lake trip was seeing the younger girls hanging onto every word their older cousin said. Norah was much too old to play with the cousins in the early days. But the girls are catching up fast and they have lots to talk about (and ask about!).
