Here's Jade feeding the ducks at the lake in Wisconsin. I fed the ducks when I was little, Grace and Mae fed the ducks, later Ed and Norah fed the ducks, and later still, Maggie, Alice, Jade, and Faye fed the ducks. Now the girls sleep too late, so Norah is back to feeding the ducks.
Mae's kids, Maggie and Alice are only a little older than Jade. The three of them became became quite the cohort growing up. Luckily they never excluded Faye when she came along. Of course Faye was never reluctant to butt right in, as this picture below shows. It was taken at Silver Creek Park along Lake Michigan.
Their best bonding time came at Boulder Junction every July. They had the liberty of running freely on the property, as loving family adults were always around.

Uncle Vitmer refurbished fishing rods for both girls and he taught them how to fish, first from the dock at Fishtrap Lake, then from his boat. They were so proud when they caught their first fish.
Dianne says I'm OCD with my trip planning, but I have to do this. I feel much more positive that I haven't forgotten something.
My family has been going to a lake near Boulder Junction, Wisconsin ever since I was two years old. That's a long time.
Most years, we've had a cottage right on the lake. This year we had the cottage on the left; Mae's family had the cottage on the right.
We all loved a good bonfire at night. The kids loved staying up late.
Faye got a boo-boo falling off the swing-set at the cottages. But she got back on it right away. She's a bit young to pump.
It was so cool to see my kids play at the same beach I did as a youngster. But I would have been wearing a life-jacket, even in this shallow water. Watch out for the blood-suckers under the dock!
