CHAPTER 2 ~ SETTLING IN
Taos women's seminar
November 20
This seminar was part of what changd my life. My two mentors, Dr. Barbara C. and Dr. Barbara P., helped me to understand that I could live an authentic life, even at work.

They also clearly understood that the environment is key to absorbing the full message of the seminar. They held it at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos, New Mexico. It is a sacred space, like much of Taos.
This is Dr. Barbara P. and Dr. Barbara C., somewhere in Taos.

The fun part of the Mabel Dodge Luhan House is that it is haunted by her ghost. Visitors claim to see her all the time. Even one seminar participant who had been staying in Mabel's room claimed that Mabel pushed her out of the bed.
Another fun part of the seminar was the way the two Dr. Barbaras wove the cultural history of this place into activities. One afternoon we visited the Pueblo - clearly another very sacred place. At night we listened to a medicine woman from the tribe tell us stories. She talked about finding her voice, too.

One of the stories they told was that of the Two Wolves, a Native American Legend.
